FedEx shipping during COVID

Hi Everyone,

We use FedEx for our shipping because they are the most reliable and safest way to deliver live animals to your family, friends and customers.

Right now FedEx is handling extraordinary volume. A year ago, at the beginning of the COVID pandemic, a busy day for ground shipping was 11 million packages. Now they're handling 14 million ground packages a day. Wow. Plus all of their air shipments.

FedEx is doing a great job handling this volume, but they are at full capacity. To help ensure on-time and live arrival of your shipments, we urge you to follow these tips:

Read the warning banner at the top of our site before you buy a label.

If you buy your shipping label in advance, re-check the warning banner on the day you plan to ship.

Do not ship on Monday because it tends to be extra busy. We check FedEx's status on Tuesday then update the warning banner accordingly.

If you want to insure your package, you must ship on a Tuesday for Wednesday delivery or on a Wednesday for Thursday delivery. The package must go to a FedEx facility, not a home or business.

Insurance is typically available on the site from midday Tuesday through Wednesday evening. Insured shipments must be booked during this time window.

We are here to help! Never hesitate to reach out with any questions.

When you follow these tips, you give yourself and your animal the best chance of on-time and live arrival.

Ship safe and have fun,

Chad Brown
